Tijax has beautifully
canopied waterfront rooms, private bungalows and a marina. Nature lovers will be
pleasantly surprised by the trials in our nature reserve. Flowers, ferns, orchids,
bromeliads, butterflies and other insects are easy to see. We have over 70 species of
trees and 330 documented bird species: falcons, kites, owls and hummingbirds being most
common in our area.
See our rubber
plantation and jungle reserve. Learn how rubber is farmed and processed from nursery to
collection. Visit one of the few patches of primary forest left in the area and identify
local medicinal plants and their uses, while experiencing breathtaking views of El Golfete
and Lake Izabal. |
