La Posada de mi Abuelo is located in the town of Parramos, Chimaltenango: in Guatemala.
This area is renowned for its delicious black beans and coffee plantations.
Located in a
beautiful coffe hacienda founded i 1921 by a German couple, Mr. Christian Schieber and his
wife Frieda. Don Christian , as he came to be known, and his wife decided that they needed
to find a better place to live and raise a family, after having fought with the German
Cavalry during World War I. They had the opportunity to travel to Guatemala where they
visited the region of Parramos. There, they found themselves surrounded by the beautiful
countryside, majestic volcanoes and very special people native to the region. |

It was there that they decided to settle and founded their own coffee plantation. Their
children have continued with the tradition of growing and harvesting coffee... Today, Don
Christian’s grandchildren have opened the gates to their grandparents’s home and
cordially welcome all visitors to "La Posada de mi Abuelo Country Inn".
Surrounded
by the beautiful Guatemalan countryside, great mountains and volcanoes, La Posada de mi
Abuelo is the point of departure for adventure to the Acatenango and other volcanoes...
